WHAT A GREAT TUTORIAL!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Can you do this in EQ8 latest version? Please make a tutorial for it TIA
Can you rotate the photo once placed in the layer?
You can rotate photos on the Image Worktable or on Layer 2, but not on Layer 1. Please email techsupport@electricquilt.com if you have any other questions.
I want LOTS of these fabric sheets!!! Is there a solution that the fabric can be sprayed with or soaked in that would better set the ink?
Using a computer before mice! I remember this! Great memories, Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video it is exactly what I needed!! I love this software so much
Are you also able to get sewing instructions with the program? I see where you can get fabric requirements and cutting instructions but I haven’t see directions on how to sew the pieces in the blocks together. Is there a video that shows where you can find them to printout when you create a pattern?
Hello! EQ8 is quilt design software. It will let your choose to print either a rotary cutting chart, templates (with or without seam allowance) or a foundation paper piecing pattern. Because it is design software (it does come with over 6700 blocks that all can be edited. You can also draw your own blocks within the program) and there are so many ways to sew a block, it does not provide sewing instructions. Depending on the block if you look at the foundation pattern that may help visualize how it could be pieced but ultimately it is left up to the designer to determine how to best piece. If you have any other questions please contact us at customerservice@electricquilt.com and we'll be happy to help further.
Can you use that identification technique with just the Blockbase software?
BlockBase+ works differently. In the software, you can search by keyword, source, or category (skill level, piecing style, etc.) to scour the database for blocks based on specific criteria. If you have any further questions just let us know. We're happy to help.
@@HeidiKorySteinmetz thank you for the reply. May have to add the book to my library then 🤔
I was expecting a tutorial like the ones you posted some time ago. Pity! This is just advertising.😒
Hi Mary! We do have lots of tutorial videos available. If you're looking for something specific just let us know at techsupport@electricquilt.com and we'll be happy to help!
it would certainly be helpful if this organization shared patterns
Please email customerservice@electricquilt.com and we'll see if we can send you any of the projects you're interested in!
Love this design. Valentines coffee cups.
This video has no sound and starts playing very fast before you hit play (autoplay is not on)
Correct, there is no sound in this video. Really enjoyed seeing all our talented volunteers here-Your creativity and commitment are remarkable. Thanks for posting this. Inspirational.
This is a great tutorial!!
This was beautiful. To see how many people honor our veterans is truly special.
Easier said than done. My paper keeps slipping and jamming in my printer.
Hi, I'm sorry you are having trouble. Here are some tips: support.electricquilt.com/articles/tips-for-printing-on-eq-printable-fabric/ If you're still having issues please contact customerservice@electricquilt.com and we'll be happy to help!
I did not realize our QOV quilts were made into a UA-cam video. It was a joy to see all those beautiful quilts! Thank you for showcasing this amazing program that gives back to our veterans. Thank you to everyone who works to cover our veterans with the tangible gift of a quilt of valor.
Can you upgrade to EQ8 from EQ7?????
Yes, you can! Here is the link to the Upgrade: electricquilt.com/online-shop/upgrade-from-eq7-to-eq8/
I have a Baby Lock Aurora, embroidery & sewing machine. Can I use this software?
EQ8 cannot export machine files. However, it can export image files (JPG, PNG, TIF, GIF, BMP) if your machine will accept any of those. Contact customerservice@electricquilt.com for more information :)
Do you have in person classes in Iowa somewhere? Or just Ohio?
We typically only have classes in Ohio. Here is more information: classes.electricquilt.com/class-catalog/ We also have online classes, you can learn more about those here: classes.electricquilt.com/class-catalog/category/online-classes/
That is a great instructional video! Well done!!
Thank you so much for these tips!
no volume
Super gemacht, so kann man das Programm besser verstehen.😀
curious does the projects that you design does it make out the written directions for the constructions of said top
EQ8 is quilt design software, so it lets you mockup your designs using actual fabrics to see what you like before you cut anything out. It will give you accurate yardage for a quilt top as well as allow you select a block and choose to print either a rotary cutting chart, templates (with or without seam allowance) or a foundation paper piecing pattern. Because it is design software and there are so many ways to sew a block it does not provide sewing instructions. That is left up to the designer to determine how to best piece.
I just found out about this software today and my mind is blown! Do you know how much time I could’ve saved if I had known about this 😂
This was much easier to follow than even the 'quick help' info included with the product. Thank you!
Gorgeous, thank you for posting!
This was soooo cool to watch. Such gorgeous quilts…and for such a great program. Love love loved this video. 🤗🤗
Spectacular, each and everyone!
Is there a way to print multiple foundations on one page? The quilt design has 4, but only one shows on the print preview.
Hi Lillian, You can only print the foundation for one block at a time. If you have any other questions please contact us at techsupport@electricquilt.com and we'll be happy to help further.
Very nice video 😊
I enjoyed your tips and that Little House in the upper left corner. I was wondering how to get back to the main screen.

So strange. I'm not getting any audio.
Hi Darlene! This video doesn't have any audio. If you have any questions please contact us at techsupport@electricquilt.com and we'll be happy to help :)
I just purchased it and am ready to dive in!
I'm brand new & 71. Are u saying the settings button will bring up all those pages? Wouldn't u have to click somewhere else to select each page individually? It's real late 2a.m. & just now saving all the tutorials to watch, but don't have my laptop open, For quick things, it's easier to use my phone. Thank u. Will keep watching until I understand it. 😊 I got it!! THANK U!!! 😊
I'm glad you were able to figure it out! If you have any other questions you can email us at techsupport@electricquilt.com, or during business hours (9-4:30 ET, Monday-Friday) call 419-352-1134 or chat with us live at www.ElectricQuilt.com.
I wish I’d known about this last month! I’ve been redrawing the blocks to do this! So how do we get to the “clip and flip” page? Edit: I found it! Look under “serendipity” while on the “block” work table!
Hi! The Clip & Flip option is available on the Block Worktable. On the NEW BLOCK tab, select Create Serendipity in the ribbon, then select Clip & Flip in the palette on the left. Here's more info: support.electricquilt.com/articles/serendipity-blocks/#Clip_Flip
😮 I had no idea. I love this!
I can’t wait for mine to arrive to design my next projects in EQ8. I am in the UK so need to wait for it to arrive
Not thrilled. I did a design, color and everything and saved & named exactly as you said several times along the way as I tried different colors and modifications. Now I open it and all thats there is the basic block from beginning layout, no color or modifications. Now I'm trying to redo the whole thing and the "undo" tool wont work. WHY DID I BUY THIS????? A pencil and paper worked for years and was alot cheaper.
Hi Kathy, I'm sorry you're having trouble. Do you have multiple quilts saved in the project, and only viewing the first one? Around the 15:50 mark in the video, it talks about seeing the first saved quilt and how to change the view in the Sketchbook to see multiple quilts at once. If you have more questions, please contact us at techsupport@electricquilt.com or live chat with us on our website (www.ElectricQuilt.com). We're happy to help!
@@ElectricQuilt Hi. Thank you for reaching out to me. To answer your question I was just working on designing a quilted pillow cover and I was having issues with saving it and reopening it later. I did more poking around on UA-cam to figure it out and I stumbled on a wonderful video by OnPoint TV with Nancy which helped me immensly and now I have no problems. This is the link to the video is: ua-cam.com/video/w8nUpH6fQYE/v-deo.html. So I now went and designed 2 more pillow covers last night and am very happy with Electric Quilt. Thank you.
@@kathsch8966 Glad you were able to figure it out! Nancy is a fabulous teacher! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact us. Have a great day! :)
Ah! It’s like the keying system for identifying plants! How brilliant!

This is a wonderful tutorial! Thank you for sharing. I plan to buy this software for my iMac. Is it possible to place a large panel for an embroidery motif in the center of the quilt, instead of all blocks on the software?
Hi Genie! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial! Yes, you can import a panel in EQ8. Here's a quick lesson on designing with a panel on our support site, to give you an idea of the process: support.electricquilt.com/articles/importing-a-panel-image/ Let us know if you have any other questions!
My wife recieved EQ8 for Christmas this year, is it worth getting Block Base + for her or does EQ8 have all this already?
BlockBase+ has over 4000 pieced blocks based on a book by Barbara Brackman. There is a little bit of overlap between the two programs, around 100 or 200 blocks. The overlap are the most common blocks, like Nine Patch and Square in a Square. With BlockBase+ you can also export templates for digital cutters. Plus, if you own both, you can link the BlockBase+ blocks to your EQ8 software. If you have any other questions you can email us at cutomerservice@electricquilt.com Thanks for your interest!
I'm thinking of getting this.
That's great! You can purchase BlockBase+ here: electricquilt.com/online-shop/blockbase/ Let us know if you have any questions!
Is there supposed to be sound?
Hi Laurie! There is no sound for this video. If you have any other questions please email us at techsupport@electricquilt.com and we'll be happy to help.
